Motto: "If my pain causes laughter, that's good. But I would never want my laughter to cause someone's pain." Charles Spencer Chaplin
This project is a one-man show built on a thorough analysis of the soul depths of one of the geniuses of world cinema. Far from being an easy undertaking, it is addressed to all people, to any segment of the public and calls for the re-humanization of the human being, so spiritually overwhelmed by the informational and media avalanche of the times we live in. Based on Charles Chaplin's autobiography, on interviews, testimonies, exegeses, articles, whether laudatory or depreciative, the text required intense work, considerable labor, with thorough checks so as not to slip any biographical and temporal inconsistencies or any information truncated by an enemy of Chaplin's work. The project has gathered a small group of passionate people who have worked "like crazy" as they say in the theater. It is a complex and essentialized show that we hope will move and amuse. And I end this little presentation also with a motto belonging to Chaplin:
"They didn't laugh as much as I cried..."
