National Operetta Theatre and Musical "Ion Dacian" invites you to a premiere: Cantafabule — Symphonic Rock Concert, a show that brings the electric rock world face to face with the splendor of the symphony orchestra, in a fusion meant to restore the album all the grandeur that its music has always carried in it.

Launched in 1975, the first double album in the history of Romanian rock, was from the very beginning an act of courage, an artistic vision, a precedent and a masterpiece that has resisted all hierarchies. Voted the best Romanian rock album of all time, Cantafabule could not be dethroned even after fifty years since its appearance.

Inspired by a Medieval Bestiary from the 14th century — a book in which fabulous animals symbolized the forces of good and evil — the album was also the first concept album in Romanian music, a work in itself, with a narrative and sound architecture, unitary, of a remarkable coherence. The lyrics signed by Șerban Foarță and Andrei Ujică transformed medieval themes into living poetry, and the music raised Romanian rock to the rank of universal art.

Now, this masterpiece returns — in a form that no one has ever seen before.

The musical material of this production is signed by Josef Kappl — the bassist of the legendary Phoenix band formula and the composer, along with Nicu Covaci, of the original album.
