The National Opera and Ballet Theatre „Oleg Danovski” Constanța continues the 2026–2027 season with a show full of color, rhythm, and energy: „The Gypsy Baron” by Johann Strauss, presented in a directed concert version.

The show will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 18:30, on the stage of The National College of Arts „Regina Maria” in Constanța, and offers the audience an encounter with the fascinating universe of Viennese operetta, in a production where music, voices, and theatrical elements blend into a dynamic and charming show.

„The Gypsy Baron” is one of the representative creations of Johann Strauss, known for the elegance of his melodies, for his Central European-inspired rhythms, and for his ability to transform the story into a true musical celebration.

The work combines moments of lyricism with scenes full of energy, dance, and humor, building a story in which love, freedom, honor, and destiny meet in a picturesque and spectacular universe. The cast brings together acclaimed opera artists, along with guests from Bucharest: Răzvan Săraru, Sidonia Nica – Bucharest, Florin Ganea – Bucharest, Silvia Simionescu, Mircea Găvan, Mădălin Băldău and Cristian Caragea.
