“The opera represents a large musical work, with a libretto written in the '70s by Victor Cărcu. This work can be presented both in the form of a classic opera and in a concert form. The birth of “The Master Manole” was as difficult as the realization of its constructions. The difficulty consisted, first of all, in finding a musical language that would be consistent with the text. As soon as we found this musical language, of folkloric inspiration, of course, we began working, which lasted from 2008 until today (2013), with a two-year interruption.” – Josef Kappl
