The Great Hill Music Club invites you to a special evening with Jezebel!
Jezebel approaches different musical genres and styles, seamlessly transitioning with naturalness and a rare passion from folklore - traditional or processed or old Lautari music - to jazz, from chansonette to Argentinian tango, from Cuban rhythms to traditional Mexican music, from interwar Romanian music to rock, from doina to fado, from sacred music to bell canto.
Her musical projects, including "from Maria Tănase to Edith Piaf, through little Paris", "Historia de un amor", "Corazon loco", "Fado, meu amor"", "Interbelic fusion rock", "Tango irreal", "Hierogamie. Incantații", "Samanik", "Unirea – sub zodia Mariei, regina tuturor românilor" etc. have been hosted by numerous stages, both in Bucharest and in the country, as well as in France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Israel, Morocco.
We can say that it is about a "converted" artist, the economist Izabela Barbu, with a career of over 20 years in the financial-banking system, becoming the artist Jezebel. Music and theater - the two passions of Jezebel have found their expression also in the collaboration with the director Toma Enache in the play "Mincinosul" by Carlo Goldoni, in which she played for 8 years in the representative theaters of Romania, alongside Claudiu Bleonț, Sebastian Papaiani, Valentin and Bogdan Uritescu, Axel Moustache, Radu Zetu, Liliana Pană, Teodora Calaigiu, Mariana Liurca, in parallel with the show "Erotopoetica" and, more recently, in "Viața e un poem", under the same directorial baton.
For Jezebel, music is literally a path and a spiritual fulfillment. Music, says Jezebel, "is the most beautiful and uplifting prayer addressed to the Creator!"
Let's listen to Jezebel and her exceptional accompanists, the well-known and much-loved pianist Alexandru Burcă and the sensational percussionist Dan Incrosnatu, in the "Corazon loco" project, a musical excursion through old Cuban music, Mexican folklore, Argentinian tango, Spanish rhythms with flamenco influences. You will also listen to two of the artist's compositions, "Tango irreal" and "Los juegos de la muerte".
