Măiastra, the magical bird that represents perfection, magic and divine inspiration in Romanian folklore, becomes the symbol of a memorable artistic journey in an event show that redefines the eternal search for perfection, transcendent beauty and spiritual essence.
“I have been hearing this call for a long time... the call of Măiastra. It's not just a fabulous bird, endowed with an unearthly voice and supernatural powers from one of the most beautiful Romanian fairy tales. It's not just profound perfection, the flight caught in stone and bronze by the incomparable Brâncuși. It's something alive in me, maybe in you too. It is that inner call to sing from the soul about our life, as it is, with good and bad - with joy, with pain, with hope. With love. It is the desire to weave into song all the sounds, melodies, refrains, which have marked our existence. And I feel that now is the time to share this call with you.
According to legend, the song of Măiastra can heal the soul and body, and has the magical power to alleviate any suffering, and even to bring back to life.
For me, Măiastra is that living inner spark.. It's the voice that doesn't let you be silent. It is the connection with this earth, with the doinas cried in the depths and with the crazy joy of the horas. But it is just as much the connection with the vibration of the present, with the fast pace of today's life, with the modern music that you hum every day. It is the desire to fly, to surpass yourself, to transform everything into something pure, but always with your feet on the ground and with your eyes on the future.
My new concert at the Sala Palatului, "Măiastra", now also in Bacău, is a show about this journey through music and time. I want it to be a bridge between worlds, between past, present and future, I want to show you that all these worlds and times can live together in our soul and music.”
