POWER GAMES
POWER GAMES is a comedy coupe show, conceived as a theatrical series, as a puzzle of stories whose common denominators are power and the way status, hierarchy, and power games influence the characters' behavior.
Whether they are in a police station, in the office of a talent agency manager, or in that of a director of a large company, the characters constantly fight for their place at the top of the pyramid and for the feeling of omnipotence that comes with occupying that place.
The theme is, therefore, approached within several different stories. The actors go through multiple roles successively, change costumes and step into another universe, reverse relational dynamics, and discover other ways to relate to the main theme.
Through these short theatrical episodes (based on short texts by contemporary American playwrights), the idea is subtly conveyed that, although life is chaotic and often incoherent, there is an underlying common thread that connects everything, like an electrical circuit.
Contemporary American short plays (so-called 10-minute plays) are powerful comedies that distill chosen situations to convey a message that has the force of a sudden, intense sensation.
