"The Threepenny Opera," by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, brings to the stage a miserable world of thieves, beggars, and prostitutes from London's Soho. Through satirical musical moments, the performance raises essential questions about morality, humanity, and poverty. This marginalized world is shaken by the execution of the king of thieves, Mackie Messer, after a series of crimes committed with the help of the corrupt police chief, Tiger Brown. Through grand moments of song and dance, the performance contrasts with the life of the lowest classes. And among the beggars, there is a boss, and among the thieves, a king. What does truth and justice mean in a world of crime and robbery?
